Ange Postecoglou and Oliver Skipp hold a press conference on Tuesday ahead of Tottenham’s pre-season match in Singapore against Lion City Sailors.
The Spurs boss will be hoping for better luck during this leg of the club’s tour of Australia and Asia after their match in Thailand against Leicester City was called off before a ball had been kicked following heavy rain in the hour before Sunday’s game. Their upcoming opponents on Wednesday – Singapore Premier League third-placed side Lion City – are themselves a late fixture change after Jose Mourinho’s Roma pulled out of the game following problems with their promoters during an early stage of their Asian tour.
Postecoglou will talk about the challenges he has faced in recent days as he tries to prepare his side for their opening game of the Premier League season at Brentford.
The Australian is likely to be asked about Harry Kane’s future once again, as well as transfers coming in and out of Tottenham, with Davinson Sanchez linked with a move and Postecoglou still needing a pair of new centre-backs to improve a defense that conceded 63 goals in the Premier League last season.
Postecoglou will also provide updates on any injury news among his Spurs squad ahead of the game in the Singaporean heat.
Young midfielder Skipp, fresh from his European Under-21 triumph this summer, will also address the media in Singapore. The 22-year-old cut short his allotted 21 days of rest to join Postecoglou’s squad just days after winning the international tournament with England in Georgia.

Postecoglou on team news
Everyone is fine – Denmark’s Scarlett is the one who has suffered from a bit of an injury. But he kind of trained this morning, he probably won’t be available tomorrow. Tanguy was the other one who has been a slow burner but now he is training again so he is also available. So yes health wise I think everyone is in good shape.
Again, I think that tomorrow I will not use all. When we missed a game, this was the game where I would give playing time to almost everyone in the squad, but when we miss a game, I will probably still focus on the guys who need a game. So I’ll probably do two two elevens again, which means some will miss something, but they’ll do some work and then we’ll have a full week of training after that.

Ange on the central defenders
We are looking to pick up at least one. No frustration – it’s just the world of football. I’ve been around long enough to know how it works. I wish it could be like my wife and Amazon where we get a delivery every day but no frustration.

State if Porro and Udogie can play together as backs
I don’t see why not. I wouldn’t read too much into the current line-ups I’m putting out and where people are playing, but if you’re asking if they want to be backs, I’d love them to play back. That’s the profile we’re looking for.

Ange on Oliver Skipp
He is definitely part of my plans. We gave him the opportunity and it’s fair to say that with a tournament where he’s successful, you want him to enjoy it. We left it in his corner. I was more than prepared for him to miss this part of the trip, but in the back of my mind I liked his decision.

More from Skippy
Each style has its strengths and weaknesses. It’s proactive, it’s what you grew up seeing as a player.

Oliver Jump up first
It is exciting. Being front foot is something that many players want. It’s something the whole team has really bought into. There are times when it won’t go right at first, but we will improve. Pressing and passing forward are areas of my game that I think fit well.
