Arsenal news and transfers LIVE: Done deal, Thomas Partey exit, Declan Rice boost, Havertz deal

Arsenal’s transfer business has continued to pick up steam in recent days.

The Gunners are set to make a £100m bid for priority target Declan Rice. The Gunners have already had a bid rejected by West Ham, with the Hammers holding out close to the British transfer record.

Elsewhere, speculation continues about Moises Caicedo’s future. Chelsea continue to be the frontrunners for his signature, with recent reports suggesting the Blues have already had a ‘secret bid’ rejected.

A number of Arsenal players will also leave the club to free up places in the squad, with left-back Kieran Tierney, winger Nicolas Pepe and young forward Folarin Balogun all potentially on the way out in the coming weeks.

If the latest reports are to be believed, Crystal Palace have joined the race for Balogun as the Gunners want to insert a special clause if he leaves.

It’s going to be a busy few weeks ahead for Arsenal. So, having said that, stay tuned to today’s blog as we bring you all the latest transfer rumors LIVE from the Emirates Stadium.

Who would you keep or sell at Arsenal this summer?

Party exit

Thomas Partey could be set to leave Arsenal this summer as the Gunners look to shuffle their midfield ranks in the coming weeks.

Havertz agreed

Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Chelsea star Kai Havertz ahead of a potential move to the club this summer, Fabrizio Romano reports.

Havertz agreement

Arsenal are closing in on a deal to sign Kai Havertz from Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to Sky Germany. The combined package is said to be worth around £68m, with Bayern Munich now out of the race to land the striker.

Declan Rice boost

Arsenal have received a huge boost in their pursuit of Declan Rice this summer transfer window as West Ham appear to have found his replacement. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Hammers are looking to sign Joao Palhinha from Fulham, with an initial proposal drawn up.

Rice prediction

Former England manager Sam Allardyce has tipped Manchester City to beat Arsenal to the signing of Declan Rice this summer, suggesting a swap could complete the deal.

He told the William Hill podcast when asked about Rice’s next destination: “Man City. Someone will go back the other way.” Former interim manager of Tottenham Tim Sherwood replied: “[It] won’t be Rodri [making a swap]. Pep will give him [Kalvin Phillips] a chance.”

Southgate relaxes Saka injury concern

England manager Gareth Southgate played down any fears that Bukayo Saka had picked up an injury after he was taken off in the Three Lions’ Euro 2024 qualifier win over Malta.

The Arsenal striker appeared in discomfort after a tough challenge from a Maltese defender and was eventually replaced by Manchester City star Phil Foden at half-time.

After the game, Southgate insisted the decision to withdraw the Emirates Stadium hero was a precautionary one and explained his expectation to have the 21-year-old available for Monday’s qualifier with North Macedonia.

“He’s good,” Southgate said after being asked about the Gunners star. “He’s good. We just didn’t want to take a chance on him given the score line.”

Latest Romeo Lavia

Arsenal are reportedly progressing in talks to sign Southampton star Romeo Lavia. The Belgian midfielder has been tipped to leave Saints following their relegation from the Premier League.

The north Londoners are keen to strengthen their midfield options during the summer transfer window, soccer.london understands, and West Ham United’s captain, Declan Rice, is at the top of Mikel Arteta’s wish list. But with Granit Xhaka and Jorginho both linked with exits, the Gunners are looking to make Rice and Lavia their new midfield for next season.

Balogun buyback clause

Arsenal want to insert a buy-back clause into Folarin Balogun’s contract should he leave the club this summer.

According to Express, the Gunners will hold talks with the USMNT star’s agent after the international break to discuss the best choice. The report also says that Crystal Palace have now joined the race and have inquired about his services.

Should the 21-year-old leave the club, Arsenal will look to include a future buy-back option so they have the chance to re-sign him in the future.
