Manchester United transfer news LIVE Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe latest plus Andre Onana updates

The transfer window is officially open and Manchester United will be hoping to make some big additions to their squad as they look to build on their impressive first season under Erik ten Hag.

MEN Sports understands the Reds will focus as much on exits as inwards this summer, with the uncertainty surrounding the ongoing takeover saga meaning it is unclear how big Ten Hag’s transfer kit will be.

The Dutchman recently revealed that the long-running takeover saga would not affect his summer business, although it is expected that sales will be a necessity if Ten Hag is to add the necessary quality to his squad.

A striker and a younger midfielder are certainly on the club’s radar, although they may also be looking for a new first-choice goalkeeper.

As things stand, David de Gea will leave Old Trafford at the end of this month, despite United releasing a statement confirming that talks over a new deal were underway.

MEN Sports understand that it is no longer certain that the Spaniard will extend his 12-year association with United, and a number of possible replacements have already been suggested.

Fernandes reacts to his worrying record

Fernandes claimed he is ‘not thinking about getting tired’ after playing his 69th game of the season.

Fernandes was outstanding for United this season and was de facto captain in Harry Maguire’s absence. The midfielder was instrumental in the team’s progress and won plaudits for his durability throughout the campaign.

The 28-year-old played the most games of any player in Europe’s top five leagues, playing 5,900 minutes, significantly more than the player who recorded the second most minutes with 4,500 (Inter Milan’s Lautaro Martinez).

Pogba opens up on United exit

Paul Pogba left United last year because he didn’t feel ‘love’ from supporters or the club.

Pogba re-signed for United in August 2016 for a then world record fee of £89m, but he failed to produce consistent performances during his second spell at Old Trafford and he left on a free transfer last summer.

The Frenchman rejoined Juventus, who he joined in 2012 when he originally left United, although his first season back in Turin was hit by injuries, limiting him to just one Serie A start.

United in negotiations with Koch

United are in talks with the representatives of Leeds Robin Koch, according to 90 min.

Koch, who joined Leeds in 2020, is expected to leave the club following their relegation to the Championship and several teams are interested in keeping him in the Premier League.

The report claims that United and Tottenham are among those who have inquired about him.

United ‘considering moving Onana’

United are considering a move for goalkeeper Andre Onana, according to Athletics.

David de Gea is out of contract this month and although he remains in talks to extend his 12-year stay at the club, an exit for the Spaniard looks increasingly likely.

United are therefore said to be eyeing the goalkeeper market, with Inter Milan stopper Onana, who worked with Ten Hag during their time at Ajax, one of the options discussed.

REPORT: United favorites to land Onana

It is being reported that United are now favorites to sign Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana.

The Champions League finalist previously worked with Erik ten Hag at Ajax, but was widely expected to move to Chelsea this summer.

However Evening Standard claim the Blues have fallen out of a deal for the Cameroon international, giving United a clear run for a reported £50m deal.
