PHOENIX – The Phoenix Suns have acquired guards Bradley Beal and Jordan Goodwinand forward Isaiah Todd from the Washington Wizards in a three-team deal also involving the Indiana Pacers, with the Suns sending Chris Paul, Landry Shamet, five future second-round picks, four future pick swaps and cash considerations to Washington and a future second-round pick to Indiana. Washington also sent a future second-round pick to Indiana when the Wizards and Pacers traded draft rights for their lottery picks in Thursday’s 2023 NBA Draft.

A three-time NBA All-Star, Beal has twice averaged over 30 points in a season and is one of just nine players in the league to post at least 27 points per game. game over the last five combined seasons. An NBA veteran of 11 seasons, all with the Wizards, Beal (6-4, 207 pounds) has amassed 15,391 points and 1,514 three-pointers in his career; he is one of only six players in NBA history to amass over 15,000 point and 1,500 three-point seasons over 11 career seasons, joining Reggie Miller, Ray Allen, Stephen Curry, James Harden and Damian Lillard. Beal has career averages of 22.1 points on 46.0% shooting from the field, 37.2% from three-point range and 82.3% from the free throw line, along with 4.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.1 steals in 695 games. An All-Star selection in 2018, 2019 and 2021, he has five career games scoring 50-plus points, including a career-high 60 points on January 6, 2021, tying a Wizards franchise record.
Beal has also played in 45 career playoff games, averaging 23.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.5 steals. He averaged 30.0 points per game in his most recent playoff appearance in 2021 and has 11 career playoff games of at least 30 points, second most in Wizards franchise history.
Originally the third overall pick in the 2012 NBA Draft by Washington, Beal earned NBA All-Rookie First Team honors for the 2012–13 season. He entered the NBA after one season at the University of Florida, where he led the Gators to the Elite Eight and was recognized as an All-SEC selection. Beal, a native of St. Louis, Missouri, was the 2011 Gatorade National Player of the Year as he finished his high school career at Chaminade College Prep.
Goodwin (6-3, 200 pounds) is coming off his second NBA season in 2022-23, both with the Wizards. After appearing in two games with the Wizards during the 2021-22 season, he averaged 6.6 points on 44.8% shooting, 3.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 17.8 minutes in 62 games (seven starts ) in 2022-23. Goodwin recorded a career-high 22 points on April 9 against Houston, a career-high nine assists on April 4 against Milwaukee and a career-high six steals on December 10 against the LA Clippers. Goodwin has also played for the Capital City Go-Go of the NBA G League over the past two seasons, averaging 19.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, 5.3 assists and 1.3 steals in four games over the past season and 15.9 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.6 assists and 1.9 steals in 45 total games in 2021-22.
Before starting his professional career in 2021, Goodwin was a four-year standout at Saint Louis University where he led all NCAA Division I guards in double-doubles in both his junior and senior seasons, averaging over 14 points, 10 rebounds and two steals in each of the last two seasons. The Centreville, Illinois native recorded the first triple-double in program history and was named to the All-Atlantic 10 First Team and Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team in each of his final two collegiate seasons.
Todd (6-9, 219 pounds) has played two NBA seasons, both with the Wizards, appearing in 18 career games and averaging 1.6 points and 1.3 rebounds in 7.5 minutes of action. During his two seasons in the NBA, Todd also played in 88 regular season and Showcase Cup games with the Capital City Go-Go of the NBA G League, averaging 9.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 0.9 blockages of 27.1 minutes per
